SpawGlass needed a flexible digital forms solution that could seamlessly integrate with their existing systems, eliminate paper-based workflows, and support a large-scale transition from Procore to their new ERP, all without disrupting safety processes in the field.
To support SpawGlass’s transition from Procore to their new ERP system, GoFormz was implemented with a SQL database integration to maintain data continuity and streamline workflows. Field teams access and complete key safety forms through QR codes, with submissions automatically routed into SQL and OneDrive. This setup ensures projects in Procore can finish uninterrupted while laying the groundwork for future scalability.

SpawGlass is a Texas-based construction services provider. The company was founded in 1953 by Louis Spaw and Frank Glass, hence the name SpawGlass. With nine offices in Texas, the company has approximately 750 team members statewide and is 100 percent employee-owned with ownership open to all team members. SpawGlass’ mission is to provide the absolute best construction experience.
SpawGlass had already added Procore to their arsenal of tech solutions when they were referred to GoFormz as a complementary solution. SpawGlass began leveraging the GoFormz and Procore integration for various safety documentation procedures, starting with their Good Catch Near Miss form.
“We identify thousands of Good Catch Near Misses a year,” explained Lori Ingle, Corporate Safety Manager for SpawGlass. “We used to rely on pen and paper, which made managing that data a nightmare.”
While Procore helped optimize this process, a missing piece remained in the SpawGlass digital workflow. “We needed to further simplify our Good Catch Near Miss processes in the field,” explained David Gutierrez, Senior Estimator for SpawGlass. “Needing an email to access the Procore mobile app was a frequent obstacle for our craft professionals and subcontractors, so when we came across GoFormz, it helped us remove that barrier and route form submissions directly into Procore.”
The GoFormz and Procore integration rapidly resolved SpawGlass’s manual obstacles. “Now GoFormz feeds that data into our safety software,” explained Ingle. “The integration makes it really simple for our workers. All they have to do is scan a QR code and submit the form.”
This success laid the foundation for further expansion, including the implementation of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) forms and operator checklists, all of which now pre-fill data and automatically upload it into their database.

Now, SpawGlass is transitioning to a new ERP for quality and safety management, requiring a solution to keep data flowing without disrupting field operations. GoFormz offered the flexibility to make this transition seamless. “We’re using the GoFormz Open API to integrate with our new ERP,” explained Keefe Andrews, Vice President of IT at SpawGlass. “At the same time, we’ve layered in the SQL Server integration, which allows us to directly access data in our database and build ETL processes that give us full control over where and how information moves.”
This dual-integration approach allows SpawGlass to support existing projects in Procore while simultaneously onboarding new projects into their ERP, without changing the field teams’ daily workflows. In addition to SQL Server, signature capture workflows are supported through the OneDrive integration, ensuring every step remains digital and traceable.

A key driver of SpawGlass’s success has been the strategic use of SQL Server integration and the Open API. By centralizing form data within their own SQL environment, the team has been able to take ownership of data flows in ways that were not possible before. “What’s powerful about this setup is that we’re not limited by predefined integrations,” explained Andrews. “We can decide exactly where our data needs to go, how it needs to be transformed, and what business rules to apply along the way. That flexibility means we can adapt quickly as our systems evolve.”

SpawGlass has developed ETL processes that transfer data between GoFormz and internal systems in real-time, enabling downstream reporting, safety analytics, and quality control processes to run more efficiently. This approach has also set the stage for scalability, as new forms and workflows can be integrated into their data environment without requiring an overhaul of field processes. “We wanted a solution that would work for us long-term,” Andrews added. “GoFormz gave us the flexibility to build something sustainable—not just for the tools we use now, but for the tools we’ll use in the future.”

For easy access to their form collection, SpawGlass leverages QR codes. “It’s great because even our subcontractors on site can pull up a form on their preferred device,” explained Ingle. The use of QR codes to access mobile forms has been pivotal in streamlining and enhancing SpawGlass efficiency, offering users a quick and convenient way to effortlessly retrieve and interact with essential information on their mobile devices.
Meanwhile, collecting form data has been made even easier with the Speech-To-Text feature. “I love the voice-to-text feature that works with all fields, and the flexibility of using it in both English and Spanish is especially valuable for our Spanish-speaking workers,” Ingle continued. Speech-to-Text allows users to bypass the task of typing extensive descriptions by effortlessly dictating their text directly to their phone, streamlining the form-filling process.

The efficiency gains have been tangible. “Simply implementing GoFormz into our JSA process saved us two and a half hours a week on one project,” noted Gutierrez. “While another project recorded an hour and forty minutes in weekly savings.” These efficiencies result from the simplicity of mobile forms and digital data collection. “We don’t have to sit down and teach a subcontractor how to fill out a JSA. They can simply scan it and then go to work and fill out their work as they go,” explained Gutierrez. “We saw a 60% increase in JSA submissions all within 30 days of implementing GoFormz. It’s making our field teams’ jobs easier. It’s always so satisfying when you get some time back in the day to manage other important tasks.”

Beyond time savings, SpawGlass has enhanced visibility into its safety metrics and workforce participation. Using SQL Server and dashboard reporting, the team can now easily track safety program engagement and manpower counts across projects. “The amount of time it saves from the field to the office is incredible,” said Andrews. “It’s night and day compared to paper. Before, everything had to be handwritten and then re-entered. Now, it’s one step and done,” Andrews continued, “We’re able to get information in real time now. There’s no lag. That changes everything for our team.”
Looking ahead, the SpawGlass team plans to continue expanding its digital ecosystem by integrating additional form types and exploring new automation opportunities. “It’s been a smooth process working with the GoFormz team. Everyone has been responsive and helpful. It feels like a true partnership.”

“Because we’ve built everything on top of the API and SQL, adding new forms or processes is just a matter of plugging them into the workflows we already have,” explained Andrews. “We’re evaluating new checklists and permit forms, and we’re also looking at how we can use the data we’re collecting to further improve field operations and safety visibility.”
With a flexible infrastructure in place, SpawGlass is well-positioned to keep evolving its safety and operational processes without disrupting field productivity.
